My Desk in a BoxYou ask why Nov 4th is unforgettable. Well most of you are thinking it is because the first African American Presidential Nominee won the election. However, something far more memorable for the Silva family occured.
After 12 years of service with HSBC/HFC/Beneficial Paul was released as manager from HSBC. He was not the only one, there were well over 100 branches closed across the country. The kicker was they kept managers that were not as experienced or as successful, but they were also not paid as much. They said it came down to numbers, but when the top notch talent in the company is released it comes down to one thing...MONEY!!! So, Paul took their money and is off to find another career.
So if you know of any good jobs, let us know. It is not the end of the world. We will get back up on our feet and overcome this new challenge in our lives. We will keep everyone posted with how things progress. As for now, Paul is going to take a week or so off and relax. Keep us in your prayers.

Well the company will be sorry they ever let you go, but on the bright side there are other companies out there looking for the talent you have to make there company shine above all others. We love you and your family is in our prayers, maybe you will come home... to Utah that is! Mary can always do daycare down there!:)
That is also why companies fail. Because when they are in a crunch, they let the good, experienced people go and leave the company to rookies who don't know what they're doing.

So, I am keeping the plane ticket for now. Maybe I will be visiting Mimi and Bubba in January for a couple weeks. Ah heck, I hope you stay in Phoenix, I like visiting there a lot more than Utah and a ton more than icky ole Washington.

Well you know how I feel. The company has let go the people who have been dedicated to the company for those who would jump ship at the first offer. With all your recent automobile repairs maybe you could be a diesel mechanic, HA HA. Just kidding. Love you and can't wait to see you at Thanksgiving. Love Mom and Dad.

Sorry about the turn of events, but
things definitely will look better when you get to Utah for Thanksgiving-ha, ha. We are coming to Phoenix next Saturday, November 15th to see our friends in
Surprise. We will call-would love to see you and your home there. Sherm has not been working either and it is hard to find work at our age, but you youngsters-no problem.
